We nailed Cody Bellinger at +370 to hit a home run Wednesday night, so let's keep it rolling and gun for back-to-back winning nights. Here are my three favorite HR props for Thursday night's shortened MLB slate.
Thursday's matchup between the New York Mets and the Washington Nationals is a must-bet in terms of home run props. The wind will be blowing strongly out to center at Citi Field, creating a projected 25 percent boost to home runs (Ballpark Pal). Pete Alonso and his 28 dingers don't need any help from the wind, but we'll ride with him anyway with a friendly price.
Let's double down at blustery Citi Field, shall we? Jeff McNeil hasn't been great this season with his .249 batting average and three home runs in 100 games, but that's why we're getting such a juicy price. In nine at-bats against Washington Nationals starter Josiah Gray, McNeil is hitting .444 with a double and a home run. Let's hope the wind can carry McNeil to a rare homer and cash us a big ticket.
With only five games on the schedule and limited options for HR props, let's take a shot at a big price. Nico Hoerner has hit only seven home runs in 393 at-bats this season, but two of those have come since the All-Star break. The second baseman has been on fire over his last 12 games with a .304 batting average and a .540 slugging percentage, and he's staring down a great matchup Thursday night. In 22 career ABs against St. Louis Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas, Hoerner is hitting .409 and hasn't struck out once. This is well worth a sprinkle at 11/1.
