'Dunno what they are doing!' Michael Lombardi baffled by Panthers’ decision-making following underwhelming activity in free agency

However, it seems that the Panthers have not taken many lessons from their past blunders. This season too, they have made similar mistakes. The team allowed the trade of their edge rusher Brian Burns. Despite the failure, Burns was one of the best players that the Panthers had last season. He contributed well to the team’s cause. Hence, his trade has disappointed a lot of people.

Following that Michael Lombardi expressed his dissatisfaction with the Panthers on the sets of The Pat McAfee Show. He claimed that he had no idea what are the Panthers doing.

Lombardi said:

I agree with Luke Combs. I do not know what they are doing. Brian Burns was one of their best players and they traded him. Dunno what the Carolina Panthers are doing. What is the overall plan for the team and what are they trying to build there. Michael Lombardi said

This is not the first time someone expressed their surprise regarding the trade of Burns. Before Lombardi,l pop singer Luke Combs also showed dissatisfaction with the poor decision.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?!? No first-round pick for McCaffrey a few years back and now none for Burns?!?! Are we just firebombing the whole team here or what? I usually don’t comment on these kinds of things but it’s just becoming slow torture at this point. Luke Combs on X

Combs earlier advocated for Bryce Young over C.J. Stroud. He also predicted that the Panthers would win all 17 games. However, in reality, nearly the opposite thing happened.
