We get the NFL's 2024 Super Wild Card Weekend started on Saturday with a pair of AFC games, and it's the wide receivers we're drawn to most. We're more focused on established roles than taking a chance on a longer odds play at this stage in the season, and we most certainly have that here in these two WR1s this weekend.
Listen, if a guy catches 11 balls for 265 yards and two touchdowns against a defense, and then gets to play that defense just three weeks later, don't you think we should probably bet on him?
That just feels like science when it comes to Amari Cooper, who absolutely torched this Texans secondary in Week 16 and hasn't played since. He's good to go this weekend, and him and Joe Flacco should be able to capitalize against a vulnerable Houston secondary.
Cooper has 34 receptions and four touchdowns in five games with Flacco this year and is clearly the WR1 in Cleveland.
The Miami Dolphins have grown to become one of the more generous defenses for wide receiver production. The Dolphins are allowing the sixth-most touchdowns/game to WRs and the ninth-most receptions, suggesting to us that Rashee Rice is set for a solid evening.
The love for Rice is quite simple; he's Patrick Mahomes's favorite target and it isn't particularly close. Rice has 56 targets over his last six games, 12 of which have come in the red zone.
Rice has a touchdown in seven games this season and is well-positioned to deliver for Kansas City at home on Saturday night.
